VERY IMPORTANT WOMEN
This project began during my time at university and has stayed incredibly close to my heart ever since. It explores my relationship with the women in my life through a series of individual portraits, each accompanied by a QR code. When scanned, it reveals a short film made up of found footage my dad captured from when I was younger, woven together with camcorder footage I filmed myself. Bringing these moments together felt like creating a conversation between the past and the present, preserving memories that continue to shape who I am today.
Looking back on this project, I think I would've explored the women as individuals rather than focusing solely on my relationship with them. I think the work would've carried even more depth that way. But I've chosen to leave it as it is because it reflects where I was at the time. There's a certain naivety to it, and I think that needed to exist. It reminds me that growth is just as important as the work itself.
